My goal for as long as I can remember has been to travel to every state in the United States.

  I am very particular about how I categorized a state as "visited". To be considered a "visited" state, I either had to have stayed overnight or participated in an event or thing. I have driven through and/or had layovers in many of the gray states; however, I do not consider those states as "visited". No shortcuts here!
